so, i want to thank all you guys for this forum. i was not looking forward to sending my palm Vx back to palm for a hundred dollar (plus shipping) repair just to replace the battery. after reading this, i was ready to do the iron/blow dryer deal and replace the battery from gethightech.com, but first i tried the beam receive thing, which i don't think was the solution because don't we all have that on all the time anyway? but i did take a closer look at the copper slots at the bottom of the palm, where it fits into the cradle. and i noticed some green crud in the second slot from the right. i cleaned this off with a little plastic wedge, put it back in the cradle and voila! full charge after a few hours. this, after the palm would show the lightning bolt in the battery symbol on the "home" window yet not charge properly before my "high tech crud removal." i think the crud was some kind of oxidation. hope this helps... sal
