I have this same problem. My palm vx refuses to stay on. I have removed the back plate (see other posts for how to do this) and disconnected then reconnected the battery. This seems to reset the unit and fixes this problem. However, when I place the palm in the cradle, it refuses to come back on again. Anyone have any suggestions?
